FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Answers for women who deserve real care.
We know this model is different. Here's everything you need to understand how we work — and why we do it this way.
Why don't you accept insurance? The short answer: insurance companies were never designed to pay for the kind of unhurried, whole-person menopause care you deserve. When we bill insurance, we're required to work within a system that limits visit time to 7–15 minutes, restricts what we can address per appointment, and requires us to fit your complex hormonal journey into a billing code. That model fails menopausal women — and the research shows it. Only about 30% of women going through menopause receive appropriate care. By stepping outside that system, we are free to spend more dedicated time with you, prescribe evidence-based hormone therapy without payer pushback, and coordinate your care around your life — not around a claims calendar. We are proud to be a direct-pay practice. No referral requirements. No pre-authorization delays. No surprise denials months after your appointment.
Can I use my HSA or FSA to pay? Yes, in most cases. Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) can typically be used for qualified medical expenses. However, we recommend confirming with your plan administrator. Please note that our treatment programs include provider visits, labs, and most prescribed medications.
How do I get started? Getting started is simple: Purchase your comprehensive intake, and we'll send you new patient forms and symptom questionnaires to complete before your first visit. We will order baseline lab work and review your full health history. Once your lab results are back, we'll review all of the information and craft an individualized plan of care moving forward. Your initial comprehensive consultation is approximately 45-60 minutes, and can be conducted in-office. From first contact to your personalized plan, most patients are up and running within two weeks.
What happens after the initial appointment? Once we've had a chance to evaluate your symptoms, review labs, and determine what level of care best meets your needs, you will be able to move forward with a 12-week treatment program. With your program in place, we'll provide continuous guidance, schedule follow-up visits, repeat labs, and make adjustments as needed. Upon completion of the initial 12-week program, most patients will transition to our long-term maintenance plan for ongoing support.
Do you offer telehealth appointments? Yes. Most follow-up visits and check-ins are available via secure video telehealth. We know that getting to a clinic mid-workday is a real barrier, and we've built our practice to remove it. Initial appointments and any physical exams that require it are conducted in-person at our Rockford office. After that, the majority of your care can happen from wherever you are most comfortable (within the state of IL).
What conditions do you treat? We specialize in the full spectrum of perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause care, including: -Hot flashes and night sweats -Sleep disruption and insomnia -Brain fog and memory changes -Mood changes, anxiety, and depression related to hormonal shifts -Vaginal dryness and genitourinary symptoms (GSM) -Decreased libido -Weight changes and metabolic shifts -Joint pain and musculoskeletal changes -Bone density and osteoporosis prevention -Cardiovascular risk optimization in the menopausal transition We also support patients managing thyroid conditions, adrenal health concerns, and other hormonal imbalances that commonly intersect with the menopausal transition.
Do you prescribe hormone replacement therapy (HRT)? Yes, and we take the evidence around HRT seriously. Hormone therapy, when appropriately prescribed and monitored, is the most effective treatment available for menopausal symptoms and has a strong safety profile for most women. We offer: bioidentical estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, and thyroid hormones as part of our treatment programs. We also offer non-hormonal options for women who prefer or require them. *Every treatment decision is individualized. We do not use a one-size-fits-all protocol. Your history, lab values, symptoms, and preferences all shape your plan.
I've been dismissed by other doctors about my symptoms. Will it be different here? Yes- and we want to say clearly: your experience is not in your head. Menopausal symptoms are real, they are well-documented in medical literature, and they deserve proper evaluation and treatment. Research consistently shows that women's symptoms are under-treated and minimized in traditional healthcare settings. We built this practice precisely to close that gap. We will listen to you fully, take your symptoms seriously, and work with you until we find what helps.
What sets you apart from other practices? -We lean into depth of care versus speed of care, and quality over quantity. -At Naturally Ageless, your care will be managed by a licensed provider- not a health coach or AI chat bot. -While online platforms are structured to cater to the masses, we are structured to keep our patient load intentionally smaller, so that each patient gets the personalized care they deserve. -We provide program support outside of scheduled visits (via emails, informational content, etc).
